Making his way from Baltimore, Maryland through Dayton, Ohio and Dallas, Texas we have an artist who's always on the move in BOOFBOIICY. The young rapper with the mosh-ready hits currently finds himself in Los Angeles, where the only thing he seems to relate to is the area's high sense of fashion. Other than feeling a little out of place, he has benefited from his stay in Southern California. Aside from all the new music he has heating up, Icy has also been making moves outside of the studio. From podcasts features to modeling streetwear, he's been doing it all to get his name out. He makes music for the youth, the fun type of music that goes crazy at shows. His hooks are unmatched, always adding on to them as the song gets deeper. With a handful of projects on the way this kid definitely has what it takes to be next up, so make sure to make note of BOOFBOIICY.

INTERVIEW

Who is BOOFBOIICY?

“BOOFBOIICY is me, my name is Icy.”

When and why did you start rapping?

"I started rapping when I figured out that I couldn't produce. My older brother always told me to keep making music no matter what it is and rapping found me, but I've been making music since middle school I just never dropped a song until 2015.”

How old are you?

"1600 deadass."

Where are you from?

“I'm from Dayton, Ohio. I was born in Baltimore, Maryland and also lived in Dallas, but Dayton raised me.”

How has your stay in Los Angeles been so far?

“LA has been okay. The people here are different it's not like home, but I have good people around that treat me like family."

What are some of your hobbies outside of the music?

“Something I like doing outside of the music is making clothes, I'm in love with fashion. I also like to model.”

Which artists are always on your playlist?

"Sosa, Duwap Caine"

How did the Cris Dinero collab happen?

"I was sitting at the house one day and I hit bro up. I knew he had some beats for one of my bros so I was like send me something and he definitely sent this hard, crazy ass beat. At the time I thought the song wasn't that good, but I liked it anyway so I just dropped it like fuck it. I just wanted to make something everyone could mosh to and something everybody would love."

Talk about the "Who" video Elevator put out with you and Freshie, how did that end up happening?

“I made a song with my homie from Cleveland, Ohio and was like we should link up, he was like let's shoot a video. We just put it together and Elevator showed love."

When can we expect a tape??

"Summer League, Draft Day, and Blizzard Babyicy are the names of some projects that you should see in the near future."

When will you feel like you have made it as an artist?

“When I can put my mom in a new home.”
