THOUXANBAN FAUNI
By Paul Jimenez on July 3, 2015
Looking to isolate himself from this new wave of Atlanta music is Fauni Taaj Keem, a versatile rapper also known as ThouxanbandFauni. Earlier this year, the rising prospect introduced us to his drug-laced flow and rockstar lifestyle after the release of his debut project, Heavy. Just a month later he dropped his most current playlist, Heavier. Both tapes made for an evocative experience, featuring mesmerizing production that will leave listeners lost inside Fauni's vision and feelings. The guy has only worked with a select few thus far, Uno the Activist and SpaceGhostPurpp being among those. Don't expect him to be involved with too many other names though, he's not going to work with just anyone. Fauni Taaj Keem won't be satisfied till he sees his name up on that Coachella lineup, so until then expect this innovative juvenile to keep unloading the bangers.
Interview
Who is Fauni Taaj Keem?
"The future mothafucka."
What does a day of yours usually consist of?
"Everyday different, I don't like routine."
Compare your last two projects.
"One heavier than the other."
Who are some artists you currently support?
"Young Dolph and every young nigga doing them."
How do you feel about the current music scene in Atlanta?
"It's the future, but everybody fake."
What do you look for when it comes to production?
"That sound that gives you the instant feeling like "that's it, that's the feeling I'm feeling", atmosphere, nostalgic, neptune."
"Rhianna Wrist" is one of your more known tracks. Do you feel like hopping on your own beats make songs any different?
"Yea, but I made the beat for "Rhianna Wrist" like 3 years ago. I will be doing more joints on my own production though."
How would you describe your music videos?
"My visuals are the past, present, and future with a twisted distortion I guess you could say. I'll be giving my fans more of my views later this year with my own direction, as the director of a few of them."
If you could perform anywhere, where would it be and why?
"Coachella. I know it will happen eventually, but Coachella is a big deal to me. Only major artists really perform there and it's almost like a modern day Woodstock event, definitely a must do."
What can we expect from Fauni in the future?
"I hate expectations, but nothing less than epic. I'll give you my all."
