Living his life in both the city and the suburbs of Chicago, Illinois is a 17-year-old rapper who goes by the name of Lucki Eck$. Lucki creates a style to his music like no other. Using beats that fit his flow and sound sublimely while rapping about his intense, young life, he creates a contradistintive style he likes to call "Alternative Trap". "I honestly can’t do that. It’s just something that happens when I rap. I know that my beat selection is a big part in it though and the lyrics I don't know, it’s just something that comes out.", answers Lucki Eck$ after being asked to describe his music. Most of his influence came in his younger days from listening to Lil' Wayne, specifically Tha Carter ll. Chance the Rapper has also impacted Lucki, introducing him to new music and even occasionally just chatting with him at YouMedia. The genre he calls Alternative Trap will also be the name of his next tape, which is expected to be released somewhere between late July and early August.

Who is Lucki Eck$?
"Lol. Lucki Eck$ is the “17-year-old phenomenon”. Naw, I’m just a rapper trying to make it I guess."
What inspired you to start making music?
"Tha Carter 2 and not wanting to be a failure basically. I also had to teach myself about rap before I actually fell in love with it."
What has been the craziest thing that has happened to you since you started rapping?
"Lol. When people recognize me. It kinda scares me when random people walk up to me, but I gotta get used to it I guess."
Describe Alternative Trap.

Influences?
"‘06-‘09 Lil’ Wayne."
How do you like staying in Chicago?
"I have a crib in the city and a crib in the burbs since my parents split up. So I don’t really think about it."

"Performing, I have stage fright but yeah, that."
